2016 YPN Leadership Summit kicks off next week

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Oct. 18, 2016 – The third annual 2016 YPN Leadership Summit kicks off next week, Oct. 25-26, in Hollywood, Fla.
The summit, sponsored by Florida Realtors Young Professionals Network (YPN), encourages all young professional Realtors and “those that are young at heart” to attend.
Highlights of this year’s summit include:
• Mini RE BarCamp, Oct. 25 from 1-4 p.m.: This “unconventional convention” is tailor-made for Realtors who want to learn a new skill, brainstorm a current challenge or help newer Realtors succeed. Short peer-to-peer classes could focus on marketing, political action, legal updates and more – but no one knows until members show up and say: “This is what I want to learn today.”
However, one RE BarCamp topic already on the docket will focus on technology and how it can be used to strengthen online connections – a jumpstart for Realtors still building their referral network.
• Smart Home Lab Tour, Oct. 25, 4 p.m.: The National Association of Realtors® CRT Labs (Center for Realtor Technology) studies the “Internet of Things,” and this presentation will feature insights on smart home technology, renewable energy solutions and other tech advances relevant to Realtors. The session includes a virtual tour of CRT’s lab.
• Florida Realtors Leadership Panel, 4:30 p.m. Oct. 25: The state association’s Leadership Team will host a discussion on current real estate events. It’s a chance for members to voice their concerns to the people who can create change – and it’s a chance for Florida Realtors’ officers to hear member’s concerns.
• Networking, cocktails and a “Miami Vice with Dice Reception,” Oct. 25, 6 p.m. cocktails and 7 p.m. reception: Networking is open to all attendees. The reception is an optional ticketed event, with the profits going to the Rebuilding Together Charity.
• Legislative Update, 9:30 a.m., Oct. 26: Florida’s real estate laws oversee almost every aspect of a Realtor’s career. At this update, Tallahassee leaders will discuss changes on the horizon and their potential impact. Presenters will also explain how Realtor advocacy and PAC investments maintain the state’s positive business environment for the real estate profession.
• Legal Update, 10 a.m., Oct. 26: Law changes and court decisions affect the way Realtors conduct their day-to-day business.
• Keynote speaker Chris Smith, 11 a.m., Oct 26: Smith is a USA Today bestselling author and the co-founder of Curaytor, a social media, digital marketing and sales coaching company that helps businesses grow.
In less than three years, Smith used the blueprint outlined in his book, ‘The Conversion Code,’ to grow Curaytor to more than $5 million in annual, recurring revenue. His work has been featured in Forbes, Inc. and other publications.
The 2016 YPN Leadership Summit takes place at the Margaritaville Resort in Hollywood, Fla., next Tuesday and Wednesday. The cost: $99 for online registration and $125 onsite. For more information on YPN, visit Florida Realtors website. To register for the summit, go to:
