A Delray Beach-based hotel operator and developer opened a 230-room Gulf coast hotel in Clearwater.
Delray-based Ocean Properties, Ltd. and Affiliates opened the beachfront Opal Sands Resort February 24 as its first guests arrived.
The curvilinear architecture of the new hotel, by Design Duncan Miller Ullman, provides every guest room with a clear view of the Gulf of Mexico.
The 15-story hotel has four restaurants, a zero-entry outdoor swimming pool and a full-service spa and fitness center, plus 17,000 square feet of event space indoors and outdoors.
