Florida Realtors Disaster Relief Fund takes action

HORSESHOE, Fla. – Oct. 3, 2016 – Horseshoe, Florida, broker Tammy Bryan received $5,000 from Florida Realtors Disaster Relief Fund (DRF) after water surge from Hurricane Hermine ruined her office last month.
Florida Realtors Disaster Relief Fund assists the state’s Realtors, real estate employees, Realtor board/associations and their staff harmed by the onslaught of a hurricane, tornado – any type of disaster.
Money in the fund comes from Realtors willing to help other Realtors. Distribution of those funds, based on need, results from an application process that can be completed through Florida Realtors’ website. All donations are tax deductible.
According to Bryan, rising water destroyed everything still in her office – file cabinets, flooring, desks, signs and more. After seeing the suffering of others following Hermine, she says she’s grateful – but she still faces a massive job getting her real estate office back to full operations.
The first task? “Fixing the bathroom,” Bryan says.
“I think what you guys are doing is phenomenal,” she adds. “If I’m ever in a situation where I can … pitch in, I’ll be happy to do it. If you need anyone to reach out to other Realtors, I’d be glad to help. You guys have done a lot for me and I greatly appreciate it.”
With Hurricane Matthew passing through the Caribbean and threatening Florida, the Disaster Relief Fund may again be called into action.
Realtors who wish to donate can do so securely online with a credit card. Donations can also be made by check payable to “Florida Realtors Disaster Fund, attention Dave Garrison.” Send the check to:
