A New York-style deli is coming to the Lincoln Road shopping district.
Hank & Harry’s will open during the first quarter of next year at the Lincoln, a building that will also house new stores for Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn. The site was previously occupied by Lucky Strike.
Miami restauranteur Buzzy Sklar of Sliderz created the concept for the 1,200-square-foot space. He told The Real Deal that he wanted to bring the best of the Jewish and Italian delis of Brooklyn to Miami Beach.
Sklar also founded Burger & Beer Joint, which has locations at Mary Brickell Village and Sunset Harbour.
Hank & Harry’s will be an upscale fast-casual eatery with counter service, takeout, delivery and catering. The menu will feature made-to-order corned beef and pastrami sandwiches, Brooklyn-style deli heroes, homemade soups, bagels, knishes, burgers, New York-style hot dogs, and salads. Panther Coffee and Dr. Brown’s sodas will be served.
The restaurant was named after Sklar’s fiance’s late father-in-law, Hank Rodstein, and his grandfather Harry Klein. Its design will be a modern take of an “old school Jewish deli,” Sklar said. The countertops will be made from vintage wooden doors, and indoor and outdoor seating will be available.
Kim Rodstein of Keller Williams of Miami Beach and Scott Sheron of JLL brokered the 10-year lease for Hank & Harry’s, at 1691 Michigan Avenue. Sklar would not disclose lease rates, but did say that the deal includes two five-year options. Sliderz has its corporate offices in the building as well, he said.
The Lincoln Road district will undergo a major revamp with enlarged sidewalks, extensive landscaping and renovations to side streets and alleyways. Miami Beach commissioners approved the master plan for the area last month.
In September, Lincoln Road made national headlines when Michael Comras and Jonathan Fryd sold an entire block – home to newly built stores for Gap, Intermix, Athleta, Apple and the future location for Nike – to Spanish billionaire Armancio Ortega for $370 million.
