Julia Child

[From the New York site] After establishing herself as the French culinary queen, Julia Child treated herself to a small piece of France. Child and her husband Paul built a small cottage near a village called Plascassier in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of southeastern France. It has now hit the market asking roughly $862,500.
Called “La Pitchoune,” which means “the little one” in Provençal, and nicknamed “La Peetch,” the half-acre property is on the market for the very first time, according to the New York Post. The 1,614-square-foot house includes four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a pool.
But the most incredible feature of the home is Julia Child’s kitchen. The kitchen was designed by her husband, who modeled it after the one in their home in Cambridge, Mass. — that kitchen is now in the Smithsonian’s permanent collection. So this is in fact your only chance to pick up one of Child’s kitchens. Bon appetite!
