Florida Senator Jeremy Ring, D-Parkland, finally found a buyer for his seven-bedroom house after listing the property for sale three years ago.
Platinum Luxury Auctions announced that the February 4 auction attracted a winning bid of more than $2 million for the house at 7980 Northwest 82 Terrace in Parkland.
The transaction is expected to close in 60 days, according to Platinum. The auction firm identified the winning bidder as a “French businesswoman with interests in equestrian sports.”
The auction firm also said in a statement that it had eight registered bidders for the house, which had languished on the marketplace for more than three consecutive years without even a single offer.”
Senator Ring once had listed the Parkland house for sale with an asking price of $3.25 million.
He paid almost $500,000 for the 2.5-acre site in 2002 for the custom-built house spanning 8,900 square feet. The property includes a fitness center, tennis court, pool and theater.
Term limits are forcing Ring to leave the Florida Senate this year. [Sun-Sentinel] — Mike Seemuth
