Triptych Miami Design District, under development by HES Group, will be branded as a Hilton Curio Collection hotel when it opens in late 2017, Hilton announced on Friday.
Curio hotels are geared to be upscale properties that are more edgy and progressive, the company said. Triptych will join Hilton’s other 22 Curio properties, including the Vintro Hotel South Beach in Miami Beach and the Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, according to Curio’s website.
Triptych, a 530,000 square foot mixed-use project, is planned for 3601 North Miami Avenue, at the intersection of Midtown Miami and Miami’s Design District, and close to Wynwood.
The 20-story hotel will include 296 rooms and suites and 40,000 square feet of meeting and function space. It will have food and beverage venues that will include a Sky Lobby with pool deck, restaurant and bar, as well as a rooftop deck with bar and lounge. The hotel will also have a fitness center, gallery space and a mechanical parking system that can hold up to 400 vehicles.
Triptych’s ground floor and second floor will have 40,000 square feet of retail space, and floors three to six will have 70,000 square feet of office space in a shared concept style, according to a release. The development is set to open in December of 2016.
In November, HES Group, the Venezuelan hotel development firm behind Aloft Miami Brickell, Aloft Coral Gables as well as Triptych, opened its first U.S. corporate headquarters in Wynwood.
Founded in 1998, HES Group’s first major project was the 2001 revival of the Intercontinental Tamanaco Caracas Hotel. In Miami the group also developed and operates such hotels as Aloft West Palm and the Hotel Indigo Brickell. — Ina Cordle
